My name is Amy Lawniczak, and I will be your child's homeroom teacher for this school year. I will be teaching language arts, and we will be switching classes with Mrs. Myerholtz, who will teach math, science, and social studies. I am really excited about this year and am looking forward to getting to know both you and your second grader. Together, we are going to make second grade your child's best year yet!
Here is a little bit of information about me...
I graduated from Miami University in 2003 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I was a substitute teacher in several area districts for two years before joining the Lake Elementary staff in 2005. This will be my seventh year teaching second grade at Lake, and I'm loving every minute! In August of 2008 I received my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Bowling Green State University. My husband and I got married in June of 2003, and we welcomed our first son, Logan, on September 30, 2008. Our second son, Brayden, was born on the first day of school last year, August 26, 2010. I love being a mommy, so I'm sure your child will come home with lots of stories to share about my family!
